DJI, the global leader in drone technology, has announced its smallest and lightest drone yet: the DJI Neo. Weighing just 135 grams, the Neo is designed for ease of use with advanced AI tracking and 4K video capabilities, offering users a simple, handheld experience for capturing high-quality content.
Palm-Controlled Drone with 4K Video
The DJI Neo allows users to control the drone without a remote. It can be launched and landed from the palm and records stabilized 4K video at 30 frames per second with a flight time of up to 18 minutes. The drone features full-coverage propeller guards, enhancing safety whether flown indoors or outdoors.
"At DJI, we strive to make capturing memories as easy as possible," said Ferdinand Wolf, Creative Director at DJI. "The Neo gives people access to cutting-edge technology in a small form factor, allowing them to safely and easily record their day-to-day experiences."
AI-Powered Subject Tracking and QuickShots
Neo's AI subject tracking allows it to follow the user’s movements in activities like cycling or hiking. It offers six pre-set QuickShot modes, including Dronie, Circle, Rocket, and Boomerang, to capture a variety of dynamic shots with minimal effort.
Multiple Control Options and Immersive Experiences
While Neo is designed for palm control, users can opt to pair it with the DJI Fly app, which enables virtual joystick control via Wi-Fi with a range of up to 50 meters. For those seeking more advanced control, Neo is compatible with DJI Goggles, RC Motion, and other remote control systems, allowing for immersive flight experiences and extended control ranges up to 10 kilometers.
Stabilization and Wind Resistance
The Neo features a single-axis gimbal combined with DJI's RockSteady and HorizonBalancing stabilization systems to reduce image shake and keep the horizon level, even in windy conditions up to Level 4. The drone also supports automatic Return to Home (RTH) for added safety.
Built-In Storage and Easy Content Sharing
With 22GB of internal storage, the Neo can store up to 40 minutes of 4K video. Users can transfer footage directly to their smartphones via Wi-Fi, where DJI's Fly app offers built-in editing tools and templates. Audio can be recorded through the phone's microphone or DJI Mic 2 via Bluetooth, automatically syncing with video.
Pricing and Availability
The DJI Neo is available now, priced at $199, with a Fly More Combo option for $349. Shipping starts immediately through DJI’s official store and authorized retailers.
